Spanish Customs - Spanish Decisions

5/30 – 22:00
Despues Cena

Everything is such a custom in Spain. It is so important that you make it to every meal with your family; they will honestly be offended if you do not let them know you are going to miss a meal. I would not consider doing that to mi Madre. After a few days in Granada and 5 in Madrid I have already become familiar with the customs.
Typical Spanish Lunch.
A nap after every lunch is so necessary. It is so funny how everyone in our group will get hungry and tired in need of food, then go to lunch and be very lively during the 2 hour meal…then PTFO when our bodies start digesting that massive amount of food we’ve just consumed. Lunch is by at least 3 times the largest meal of the day. The verb “to eat” in Spanish “Comer” in the present tense literally means to eat lunch.
I need me a Pedometer!
It’s hard to imagine literally walking everywhere. I need to buy a pedometer because there’s no way we walk less than 6-8 miles a day. Every single thing you need to live is accessible to you within a few blocks here in Granada. You can dine, shop, go to school, church, work, lay in the park, use the library, work out, and protest in the plaza all in this small but not so small city.

PS. I haven’t mentioned, the school is one mile (or more) straight up a mountain.

I really like the small town feel to Granada. It's like you’re going to run into your close friends at any moment. It’s happened a few times to me already and I see people hootin’ and hollerin’ at their peers constantly.  It’s also very funny that so many of the people in this town are students and you can obviously tell they are from the states. Bahah, sometimes we want to go up to people and say…”What part of the America are you from?”

TFM
But low and behold sometimes I am one of them. Just like this night (5/30), I wore my new PFG (Professional Fishing Gear for you non-frat stars ;-P), my New Balance 993’s and my Pi Kappa Phi cap. Yes I grew my hair out before I came to Europe, but no matter how much more it makes me look European these fuckin’ colors don’t run and I love my free country.

AMERICA
Random Reminders:  I need to order some creatine. I normally use CytoGainer which is a mass gainer (protein/whey supplement) combined with creatine, but there is no way I can physically consume more calories than I am now.

Join the local gym. It is €35 for a month with a student discount, which ends up to be about $50. I think it’s worth it to direct allllll of these extra calories into muscle and have an unlimited, healthy activity to do in my down time, especially during the 14-18:00 siesta time. What do you think?
