First experiences in Granada - Recap of Madrid Palace visit

A quick note on this Wednesday June 1st, 2011 is that I woke up at 5:30am to go find some WiFi, make Skype calls to my family and Becca along with taking everything I've written over the past few days and compiling it to this post. Hope it's organized enough!
12:00 Monday 5/30/11
The normal, pequano breakfast in Spain.
So Chris and I woke up around 7:45 to eat, get ready and arrive to school by 8:45. The breakfasts are very light in Spain, and I don’t like that because I am used to eating a huge breakfast. Jellied bread and cafĂ© con leche will have to do until I ask mi Madre for a breakfast mas grande.
Normal walkway to school
So our casa is about 22 minutes from the first university building, unless you power Atlanta-walk like Chris and I then it takes about 15. We took placement exams, a 30-minute writing portion, an hour long grammar portion and a 5 minute oral exam. I did pretty well on the writing (4/9), haha poorly on the grammar (3/9, oops Christmas Tree) and very well on the oral (5/9). I will most likely be placed in the intermediate Spanish classes. My main goal here is to become fluent in Spanish and be able to have a thorough conversation with a native speaker at all times.
Lunch with Anatonia, Chepe y Chris – 2-3:30 5/30/11
We had lunch at the normal time today. It was awesome.
I really like Anatonia’s son, Alfonzo, aka Cheepee. haha. He is 32 but looks 25, an athletic soccer and racquetball player who helps curb the language barrier we have with our Madre. The 5 hours of sit down eating we spend a day has started to become one of the best ways for me to learn the language. They teach us the cultural norms and Spaniard sayings that we'd never learn in America.

Go Spanish, GO!
Everything is starting to zone in on the Spanish language. Even though we don’t have internet in our house, it is helping us focus on the interactions with our Madre and broadening our conversation skills. I do need to get over not having it, though. So much to do on the computer with so little time at the shops and such.
Saturday 5/29/2011 - The last day in Madrid
The Palacio de Real.

My feelings on the Royal Plaza de Real

Fuck monarchies. This is overrated.
(Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely gorgeous, I just think the Imperial rule over all of Spain for so long is wrong) Typical American, no?
As we were being toured through the palace we were somewhat bored, but we were trying to make the most out of it. We weren't allowed to take any pictures, but you know me of course I did!
Kelcie, Nooren and I created Fraternal Purposes for each room.
The rooms are in order by which came after what during our tour.
Inside the Palacio
There was first the Chapter room
then the Presidents suite
Arts and crafts/Hospice room (It's where one of the Kings died, morbid!)
Garden room (For the girls)
Band Party room (Huge)
Recovery room (Tranquil)
Shroom room (Trippy, obviously)
Parents day room (necessary)
Trophy room (#Winning)
Liquor room
Founders hall/rec room (As in beer games)
Brunch room
Choir/music room
Man/cigar/pool room (kelcie's guess ended up being the true use of the room)
Lucky buddah/Asian room
Prayer room
Office room
VIP room
