So we just got done with our 22 mile practice ride through Sausalito, California. It was a beautiful ride in just as beautiful with 3 talented paceliners. Tyler Peterson, Matt Elwood and TJ Howard. We had a 6 o'clock wakeup which was nice coming off of our past two 5:30 wake ups. Fortunately but unfortunately I recieved my bike in the mail yesterday...but the once small piece of equipment we did not pack, my pedal clips, were not in my bag. So thank GOD Mike Barnes, an intown Pi Alpha, was so gracious to loan me his bike.
It was an absolute mess trying to get my bicycle from Atlanta to San Francisco. United Airways kinda screwed us by not letting me check it & we ended up having to spend over $300 on Fedex'ing it to San Fran. THANK YOU Jerel Verner and Premier Restoration for sponsoring that.
I bought an Otterbox yesterday to secure protection of my phone. It's just not worth it to keep it in any other case and risk breaking such an expensive and essential piece of technology...
We had an absolute blast last night at Fisherman's Warf. We ate at In-n-Out Burger which is one of my favorite things about the west coast. We strolled down the boardwalk in seach for bicycle ornaments and croakies. All these guys from the North have never used and barely seen croakies in their lives...Us Southern boys are going to enrich their lives bahaha.
&& I came up with a name for my bicycle! ...Maria.
Drayton is doing a great job as Project Manager already. He is so calm and collected and all of the team respects him. He fully has my support and that of so many others and we know that he will be centered and just the entire trip.
The guys are just awesome. I see so much potential for the greatest trip ever with them. All of them are spirited, love Push & Pi Kapp, love helping people with disabilities, and get along great with each other.
This is going to be the greatest summer of my life...again...but x's 2!
